James Alison on Faith Crises

I found this encouragement this week and thought I’d share it with you.

James Alison is an English Roman Catholic theologian and priest and he said this, “The whole point of faith is that you are being taught to relax… You are being held… You can trust the one who is holding you when you seem to have crises, moments of doubt, not being able to tell what’s going on. Which is what you would expect if you are being recreated by someone who is bigger than you. You can cope with crises of faith because they aren’t really crises of faith; they are shifts in you being produced by the one who’s holding you.”
